Description
Radium Fluid Lock PCV Catch Can Kit - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
Application: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (2008-2016) – PCV side
Part Type: PCV oil catch can kit with Fluid Lock
Part Number: 20-0105-FL
This Radium PCV catch can kit mounts immediately behind the RH headlight and plumbs inline with the PCV hose. When the PCV valve is open, crankcase vapour, unspent fuel and oil sludge can be drawn into the intake manifold – the catch can acts as an inline filter, trapping and holding these contaminants before they reach the engine. The can is pressure sealed, so it can be connected to the intake manifold at any boost level with no check valve required. It is a closed system that relies on intake manifold vacuum to open the PCV valve.
The kit uses Radium's 7 fl oz Fluid Lock catch can. Typical catch cans that are not serviced regularly can allow collected fluid to pour out of the reservoir and into the intake, hurting engine performance. Radium's patented Fluid Lock mechanism prevents the reservoir from overfilling and holds the collected fluid until the can is emptied.
Key Features
- Direct Fitment: Bolt-in installation with no drilling required
- Large Ports: 10AN ORB inlet and outlet ports
- Drain Port: 4AN ORB drain port
- Oil Separation: 2-step oil separation baffling
- Easy Checking: O-ring sealed dipstick
- Fluid Lock: Patented system prevents overfilling and holds collected fluid
- Boost Safe: Pressure-sealed can, no check valve required
What's Included
- Billet oil catch can with integrated condenser and dipstick
- Laser-cut, powder-coated RH mounting bracket
- 6AN and 8AN aluminium hose ends and adapter fittings
- 3/8" and 1/2" PCV hose (enough for custom applications)
- Stainless steel mounting hardware
Optional Parts
- Radium Catch Can Petcock Drain Kit (20-0024) – allows the can to be drained remotely where there is space under the can
Important Notes
- Some European models have headlamp washer reservoirs that interfere with the PCV catch can
- There is no fixed emptying interval – check the dipstick from 3 to 4 weeks of driving and repeat as needed; PCV cans generally collect more than CCV cans
- To empty, unscrew and remove the lower reservoir, or fit the optional petcock drain kit where space allows
- Excessive oil collection may indicate an engine issue such as excessive blow-by, crankcase windage from overfilled oil, poor breather port placement or baffling, or a PCV valve that does not close under heavy load
- Installation instructions are available in the Instructions tab
