Radium Engineering PCV Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit for Toyota Tacoma 2005-2023

Radium PCV Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit, Toyota Tacoma (2005-2023)

Application: Toyota Tacoma 2005–2023 – V6
Part Type: PCV Fluid Lock oil catch can kit
Part Number: 20-0838-FL

The Radium 20-0838-FL PCV catch can kit runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold on the 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma V6. At idle, steady cruising and deceleration the PCV hoses see metered vacuum that would draw crankcase vapour, unspent fuel and oil sludge into the intake manifold – the catch can traps it first. Separating oil and water condensation from the crankcase gases keeps oil build-up out of the intake, intercooler, throttle body and intake manifold. This effectively raises octane, can improve performance from cleaner inlet air and can lower hydrocarbon emissions, and the closed system keeps oil vapour out of the cabin.

Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, so no inline check valve is needed and a direct intake manifold connection is permitted. Radium's Fluid Lock can (introduced with the 2022 redesign of its 7 fl oz catch can) uses a patented mechanism that prevents the reservoir from overfilling and traps the collected fluid until the can is emptied, so a can that misses a service can't pour contaminants back into the intake.

Key Features

• Fluid Lock: Patented Fluid Lock mechanism stops the reservoir overfilling and traps collected fluid until the can is emptied
• Large Ports: 10AN ORB inlet and outlet ports
• Drain Port: 4AN ORB drain port
• 2-Step Baffling: Two-step oil separation baffling
• Dipstick: O-ring sealed dipstick to check the fluid level
• Pressure Sealed: No extra inline check valve is required
• Direct Fitment: Vehicle-specific bracket, no drilling required

What's Included

• Baffled Fluid Lock oil catch can
• Tacoma-specific mounting bracket
• AN adapter fittings and hose ends
• Stainless steel hardware
• Radium PCV hose

Optional Parts

• Radium CCV Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit, Toyota Tacoma (2005-2023) (20-0839-FL) – covers the crankcase breather (CCV) side
• Radium Dual Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit, Toyota Tacoma (2005-2023) (20-0840-FL) – PCV and CCV kits combined in one part number
• Radium Catch Can Petcock Drain Kit (20-0024) – drain the can without removing the lower reservoir, where there is space under the can

Important Notes

• Not compatible with LHD manual-transmission trucks that have the remote clutch master cylinder reservoir – it interferes with the catch can location
• This kit covers the PCV side only – pair it with the 20-0839-FL CCV kit, or choose the 20-0840-FL dual kit
• There is no fixed emptying interval – start checking the integrated dipstick after 3–4 weeks of driving and adjust from there; PCV cans generally collect more than CCV cans. Empty by unscrewing the lower reservoir, or fit the Petcock Drain Kit where there is space under the can
• Excessive collection can point to an engine issue such as blow-by from engine damage, crankcase windage from an overfilled oil level, poor breather port placement or baffling, or a PCV valve not closing and leaking under heavy load
• Installation instructions are available in the Instructions tab

Vehicle Fitment

• Toyota Tacoma 2005–2023 – V6 models (not LHD manual trucks with the remote clutch master cylinder reservoir)
