Radium Engineering Fuel Hanger Surge Tank for Nissan 370Z & Z 400Z (Brushless, No Pumps)

Radium Engineering Fuel Hanger Surge Tank - Nissan 370Z & Z (400Z) (Brushless, No Pumps)

Application: Nissan 370Z Z34 (2009-2020) and Nissan Z RZ34 (2023+) – RHD or LHD
Part Type: In-tank fuel hanger surge tank (FHST) – fuel pumps not included
Part Number: 20-1821

The Radium Fuel Hanger Surge Tank (FHST) is a surge tank built inside the OEM fuel tank, solving the fuel starvation that is common to the Z34 and RZ34 chassis during aggressive driving such as track use. It runs one or two aftermarket fuel pumps, supplies 1:1 regulated fuel to the engine, needs no sheet-metal modification and is E85 compatible.

The OEM module pump feeds the FHST to keep its collector box full, while the OEM venturi jets continue scavenging fuel from the bottom of the tank. The FHST pumps then draw from three sources – the OEM module pump, the integrated regulator return and 355 LPH one-way fill valves on the bottom of the collector box.

Key Features

• Drop-In Installation: Fits inside the OEM tank with no cutting or sheet-metal modification
• 1 or 2 Surge Pumps: Runs one or two aftermarket pumps
• Brushless Pump Ready: Suits the Ti Automotive E5LM brushless pump; two bolt-on check valves let two pumps be staged and keep fuel primed when the pumps switch off
• Integrated Regulator: Adjustable 1:1 fuel pressure regulator with swivelling vacuum port
• Starvation Protection: Collector box fed by the OEM module pump, regulator return and 355 LPH one-way fill valves
• Pressure Gauge: Fuel pressure gauge included
• High-Current Electrical: Stainless anti-rotation studs and anodised aluminium acorn nuts, ETFE-insulated in-tank wiring
• Fuel Compatibility: Petrol, methanol and ethanol (E85) compliant

What's Included

• FHST unit with pre-installed low-profile fittings (8AN feed port, 6AN inlet port)
• Integrated adjustable 1:1 fuel pressure regulator with swivelling vacuum port
• Fuel pressure gauge
• Two 6AN external fuel hoses connecting each tank unit
• Adapter fittings to reconnect the OEM feed line
• Four #10-32 vacuum fittings – barb, 3AN male, push-to-connect and vacuum plug
• Electrical hardware for the pump(s) and OEM level sender
• One relay, one fuse and wiring for one surge pump
• Two bolt-on check valves (the brushless pump has no integrated check valve)

Optional Parts

• Radium Fuel Hanger FPR Block Off Plate - Ford Mustang S197/S550 11+ (20-0806) – converts the built-in dead-head regulator to a return-style system for an external regulator
• Radium 20-1000-0606 Low Profile Swivel Banjo Fitting, 6AN ORB to 6AN Male (20-1000-0606) – low-profile 6AN ORB fitting required for the return port when using the 20-0806 block-off
• Radium 20-1000-0808 Low Profile Swivel Banjo Fitting, 8AN ORB to 8AN Male (20-1000-0808) – 8AN adapter for the FHST OUT port
• Radium DIY Fuel Pump Hard Wiring Kit (17-0031) – wiring kit needed for a second pump

Important Notes

• Fuel pumps are not included
• The brushless E5LM pump requires a brushless pump controller
• The OEM venturi system must be used with the FHST, and the OEM module pump must be upgraded to one rated at least 340 LPH at 40 psi
• Do not modify the OEM fuel pressure regulator or the OEM venturi jet pump
• The FHST IN fitting contains a venturi component and cannot be changed; the OUT fitting can be changed
• The Radium integrated regulator should be the only fuel pressure regulator in the system
• Use an 8AN feed line for high-flow applications
• The OEM low-micron post-pump filter stays in place; a downstream aftermarket filter is recommended but not required
• Radium notes the fuel level gauge will not read accurately, although starvation does not occur prematurely
• When using the 20-0806 block-off, an external regulator must be installed downstream (not covered in the instructions)
• Installation instructions are available in the Instructions tab
