Radium Engineering V2 FPD-R Fuel Pulse Damper, 8AN ORB

Radium V2 FPD-R Fuel Pulse Damper, 8AN ORB

Application: Universal – any 8AN ORB female port (6AN ORB with adaptor)
Part Type: Direct mount fuel pulse damper
Part Number: 20-0776

The Radium FPD-R 8AN ORB is a direct mount fuel pulse damper that screws into any 8AN ORB female port. Fuel injectors opening and closing create pressure pulses in the fuel rail; the damper's internal diaphragm absorbs them to stabilise rail pressure, which can help cure idle surge – especially with high-flow injectors – and lean spikes that feel like a stumble.

Each Radium damper has a vacuum/boost reference port, which keeps it working at elevated fuel pressures – essential on boosted systems with a 1:1 rising-rate regulator, and on vacuum-referenced systems where pressure drops below 40 psi. The 8AN ORB body seals with an FKM O-ring and swivels after tightening, so the reference port can be clocked 360°.

Key Features

• Pulse Damping: Internal diaphragm absorbs injector pressure pulses
• Vacuum/Boost Reference: Maintains performance at elevated and rising-rate fuel pressures
• Base Pressure Range: 2.8–4.8 bar (40–70 psi) base static pressure
• 360° Swivel: 8AN ORB body swivels after tightening to clock the vacuum port
• Any Orientation: Can be mounted at any angle, including upside down
• Fuel Compatibility: All fuel types, including E85

What's Included

• Anodised, laser engraved aluminium top (R)
• Anodised aluminium body with 8AN ORB male thread
• Stainless steel hardware
• Rubber vacuum hose, 4mm ID
• Vacuum hose Y-fitting

Optional Parts

• Radium 8AN ORB Female to 6AN ORB Male Adaptor Fitting (14-0600) – adapts the damper to a 6AN ORB female port

Important Notes

• Not for use with mechanical fuel pumps or direct injection high-pressure pumps – the pulses will rupture the diaphragm
• Base pressure is the fuel pressure with the pump running and no vacuum line connected to the regulator; dynamic pressure from a rising-rate regulator may exceed the range only if base pressure is within range and the vacuum/boost line is connected
• If base pressure is above 70 psi, use the extended range FPD-XR (20-0777)
• Some systems need more than one damper, and some benefit from a damper on the return line
• Check the space around the port against Radium's damper dimensions
• Installation instructions are available in the Instructions tab

Vehicle Fitment

• Universal – fits any 8AN ORB female threaded port; 6AN ORB ports with the 14-0600 adaptor
