The Radium Catch Can Kit for the BMW E46 M3 removes oil and water condensation from crankcase gases before they reach the intake, keeping oil out of the intake, throttle body and intake manifold. Cleaner inlet air can improve performance and lower hydrocarbon emissions, and the closed system keeps oil vapour out of the cabin.

The can mounts in the RH engine bay compartment near the firewall and suits both early models with the ABS module in this compartment and later models with a secondary PCV system. Radium redesigned its 7 fl oz catch can in 2022 with the patented Fluid Lock system, which stops the reservoir from overfilling and traps collected fluid until the can is emptied.

Important Notes

• LHD only – not compatible with right-hand-drive vehicles, as the can mounts in the RH engine bay compartment near the firewall
• Compatible with early models with the ABS module in this compartment and later models with a secondary PCV system
• Empty by unscrewing the lower reservoir, or fit a petcock drain kit where space allows
• Emptying interval varies by vehicle – check the dipstick from 3-4 weeks and adjust from there; PCV cans typically collect more than CCV cans
• Excessive oil collection can indicate an engine issue such as excessive blow-by, overfilled oil, poor breather port placement or baffling, or a PCV valve sticking open under load
