Description
Radium FPR Bypass, Chevrolet Corvette (Mid 2003-2013)
Application: Chevrolet Corvette C5 (mid-2003–2004) and C6 (2005–2013)
Part Type: Secondary fuel pressure regulator bypass
Part Number: 20-0574
The Radium 20-0574 FPR Bypass is needed on modified Corvette fuel systems running less than 58 psi (4 bar) of fuel pressure – typically where an adjustable and/or vacuum-referenced regulator lets engine vacuum pull pressure below 58 psi, or the build needs a lower base pressure.
The Corvette has two OEM regulators: the primary FPR in the LH saddle tank holds a constant 58 psi, and the secondary FPR in the RH saddle tank feeds the venturi jet pump. If an aftermarket primary regulator is set below 58 psi with the OEM secondary still in place, the jet pump is starved of flow, the crossover transfer to the pump canister is interrupted and the engine can run out of fuel early. The Radium bypass replaces the secondary FPR so any fuel pressure can be dialled in while the jet pump keeps getting ample flow.
Key Features
- Replaces Secondary FPR: Fits in place of the OEM secondary regulator in the RH saddle tank
- Jet Pump Supply: Keeps the venturi jet pump supplied so crossover fuel transfer continues
- Any Fuel Pressure: Allows base pressures below the OEM 58 psi (4 bar)
- Billet Construction: Machined from 6061 aluminium
- Finish: Type II black anodised and laser engraved
What's Included
- Anodised aluminium FPR bypass
- Replacement FKM O-rings
Optional Parts
- Radium Universal Check Valve (20-0534) – recommended inline check valve for the fuel feed line
- Radium Check Valve Fuel Filter Conversion Kit (20-1221) – alternative to 20-0534 for holding fuel pressure after shutdown
Important Notes
- Required whenever an adjustable FPR is used to run less than 58 psi (4 bar)
- Not required if the OEM primary FPR in the LH tank is still in the system
- An inline check valve in the fuel feed line is recommended – without one, fuel pressure bleeds off after shutdown
- Not compatible with C5 Corvettes built before VIN 114931 (25 November 2002)
- Installation involves lowering the RH fuel tank and removing the RH in-tank assembly
- Installation instructions are available in the Instructions tab
Vehicle Fitment
- Chevrolet Corvette C5 (mid-2003–2004, from VIN 114931)
