A PCV valve promotes negative crankcase pressure, stops boost pressure entering the crankcase and, in a backfire, stops combustible vapour igniting in the crankcase. The Radium 20-1562-FL kit improves the LSA crankcase ventilation system on the 2009–2015 Cadillac CTS-V: the catch can runs inline between an O-ring sealed aluminium PCV valve and the intake manifold, and a baffled replacement oil cap draws as much blow-by from the crankcase as possible past the restrictive OEM orifice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe included bracket replaces the OEM intercooler coolant filler bracket and mounts the catch can. When manifold pressure is near or above atmospheric the PCV valve closes; at idle, steady cruising and deceleration the PCV hoses see metered vacuum, which would otherwise draw crankcase vapour, unspent fuel and oil sludge into the intake manifold.
