The PCV can sits inline with the PCV valve, where the line sees metered vacuum at idle, cruise and deceleration, and the CCV can connects to the 1\/2in valve cover breather port, which sees vacuum under high load – so both crankcase circuits are covered. Separating oil and water condensation from the crankcase gases keeps oil build-up out of the intake, intercooler, throttle body and intake manifold. This effectively raises octane, can improve performance from cleaner inlet air and can lower hydrocarbon emissions, and the closed system keeps oil vapour out of the cabin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRadium's Fluid Lock can (introduced with the 2022 redesign of its 7 fl oz catch can) uses a patented mechanism that prevents the reservoir from overfilling and traps the collected fluid until the can is emptied, so a can that misses a service can't pour contaminants back into the intake.
